How Long Do LED Flashlight Batteries Last?

One of the main factors that determines a flashlight’s lifespan is the battery. Several elements affect battery life, including:

Power draw: Low, medium and high brightness settings require a little to a lot of battery power.
Brightness: The lower the lumens, the longer the batteries will run.
Battery type: Alkaline and NiMH batteries last longer than “heavy-duty” options made from zinc-carbon or zinc-chloride.
The number of batteries: More batteries means more energy capacity, resulting in a higher run time.

Depending on the power draw, LED flashlight batteries can last 1.5 to 7 hours on high and up to 50 hours on low.

LED lightbulbs last anywhere from 50,000 to 100,000 hours, which is much longer than most flashlight bulbs. LED lights are very efficient, which helps increase their lifespan.
